Designing for fashion fabrics

Our Work bay inspiration! As part of our studio modules we were asked to display our chosen concept in our work spaces.

A selection of florals chosen for my imagery. During the design process our imagery will be combined to then be embroidered onto a skirt and top template. To do this I will use many different techniques such as dyeing fabric, appliqué, hand embroidery and hand painting with dye! The designs will be aimed towards the higher end of the fashion fabrics market.

Purchased this book from the reading list for this new uni module we're starting, can't wait to get stuck in! It has loads of good information for surface designers, with sections on  finding inspiration, photoshop techniques, putting together the perfect repeat pattern and lots more!  Really found this helpful!  £10 from Amazon :)
